I'm an astute, versatile writer-editor with a proven ability
to shape compelling content for internal and external,
professional and consumer, print and online audiences.
Medical/healthcare/science writing is a specialty. I've
produced hundreds of pieces—articles, press releases,
brochures, newsletters, Web pages, reports and more—for
associations, agencies, hospitals, magazines and news services.
I've also been the writer for a major association's
consultation program for 10 years, generating quality
management reports for hospital clients based on medical
specialists' evaluations.
My work doesn't stop at anesthesia and otolaryngology. I've
learned fast and written engagingly about corporate customer
success stories, business processes, ethics, manufacturing,
employee benefits, product development, information systems,
real estate, insurance, banking, printing, law, childcare,
education and much more. The common thread, regardless of
content, is targeted writing that lets clients breathe
easier.
Before becoming a freelancer, I held communications
positions at Northwestern Memorial Hospital of Northwestern
University's Feinberg School of Medicine, the American Dental
Association and the National PTA.
I've won a Silver Quill from the International Association
of Business Communicators (D4), an Effie Award for Newsletter
Excellence from Editor's Forum and the Cub's Cup from Women in
Communications. I was WICI-Chicago's program chair and career
conference program co-chair. I'm a member of the American
Medical Writers Association and the Association of Business
Publication Editors.
My bachelor's degree in English is from Roosevelt University
in Chicago. I've continued to fine-tune my skills at workshops,
seminars and meetings.
